The newest addition to Veronica Roth's Divergent Trilogy has arrived at DCPL.
Insurgent starts where its predecessor, Divergent left off: Society, once comprised of five factions -- Candor (the honest), Abnegation (the selfless), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the peaceful) and Erudite (the intelligent) -- has been challenged by an Erudite-led coup, leaving two of the five groups scattered and fragmented.
Though she survived the coup, sixteen-year-old Tris Prior is haunted by the loss of her family and friends and stricken with guilt over her actions in the attack. While the remaining Dauntless must regroup and find allies to rally against the Erudite, Tris remains conflicted in the role she plays.
She must find the truth behind long-held secrets that may break apart everything she knows in order to save the ones she loves, and possibly herself.
The Divergent series is a great choice for readers who are finishing up the Hunger Games series and want more of stories involving young adults and dystopic and post-apocalyptic.
