Author Talk: 'Capital Splendor'

Book Cover: Capital SplendorThe creators of Capital Splendor, Gardens and Parks of Washington DC will host a program of words and images on the breadth of created landscapes in our area, from formal gardens to community gardens at Cleveland Park Library on June 12 at 7 p.m.

Author Barbara Glickman has been an avid and active member of the D.C. gardening community for many years. Her extensive travels have taken her to gardens around the country and the world.  She holds a bachelor's degree in English from Franklin and Marshall College and masters degrees from the University of Michigan and George Washington University.

Photographer Valerie Brown worked as an assistant for Salvador Dali, Ernst Haas, Philippe Halsman and other artists of note.  Her images have been included in materials ranging from books published by the Smithsonian Institution, to periodicals such as Women's Wear Daily, People, and Time.  Brown's photos are included in art collections around the world.

Copies of the book will be available for signing after the program.
