Mystery Book Club: 'Tigerlily's Orchids'
Published on Thursday, June 21, 2012 - 4:51pm
On Thursday, July 5, the Cleveland Park Mystery Book Club will discuss Ruth Rendell's Tigerlily's Orchids.
The author, recipient of the Cartier Diamond Dagger lifetime achievement award from the Crime Writers' Association, is a preeminent writer of psychological menace. In this book, she explores the lives of a disparate group of people who inhabit a block of flats in a quiet London suburb and the effect that crime has on a community. The plot abounds with secrets and obsessions of the sort at which the author excels.
To find out more about Ruth Rendell, you can read an excellent article about her on the British Council website.
The Cleveland Park Mystery Book Club meets at 6:30 p.m. on the first Thursday of the month at Barnes & Noble, 12th and E Streets NW.
