Living in a Refugee Camp is a children's picture book that is part of the Children in Crisis book series.
This book tells Carbino's story about his life in the Sudan during the civil war. Carbino's story is certainly for young mature readers, because it covers war, conflict, hunger and fighting. Men, women and children were killed, and their village was destroyed.
Carbino left his family to be educated in Ethiopia, but instead he ended up in a terrible refugee camp. He experienced the hardship of being separated from his parents and he struggled on his own to survive life in wartime. The refugee camp had many other young boys there around Carbino's age and he saw many of them get sick and die.
Check out the rest of Carbino's story -- It will be very interesting to see how his story ends.
