Book Club Pick: 'Thinking, Fast and Slow'
Published on Friday, July 13, 2012 - 9:03am
Dr. Daniel Kahneman’s research is based on a statistical analysis of judgment and decision-making in psychology. He believes that the mind works in one of two ways:
- System 1 is fast, intuitive, and emotional;
- System 2 is slower, more deliberate, and more logical.
In this highly engaging book, the winner of the 2002 Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences presents his decades of research into the mind’s processes of processing, and how these processes impact our behavior, decision-making and how we think.
The book club meets the second Wednesday each month at 7 p.m. at La Casa, located next to the interim library.
