Meet Lizzie Nolan
Published on Monday, July 23, 2012 - 1:07pm
My name is Lizzie Nolan and I'm the brand spanking new Children's Librarian at the Woodridge Neighborhood Library. I was born and raised beautiful Buffalo, N.Y., but I've been in D.C. for almost five years now. I got my library degree at University of Maryland and live for now just over the D.C. border in Hyattsville.
More about Lizzie
Favorite children's book when she was a kid
Tough question ... but I would have to say Go Dog Go! by P.D. Eastman. My Dad was pretty good at mimicking all the squeaks and squeals of the dogs' cars.
Favorite children's book now
Oh no, you didn't just ask me to pick did you? Well, today I read and really enjoyed Shark vs. Train, written by Chris Barton and illustrated by Tom Lichtenheld.
Favorite thing about books
Again, you didn't just ask me to pick did you? I do really like visiting in my mind places I've never been before (France! The moon! The Battle of Bunker Hill!) and imagining how the characters looked, sounded and what clothes they wore.
Favorite color and food
Oh wow, I still can't pick. I'm going to say the color red and blueberries. I reserve the right to change my answer as the seasons change!
Please feel free to email me with comments and questions or just to say hello. Better yet, come on down to Woodridge and say hello in person.
