Come celebrate Banned Books Week at the Francis A. Gregory Library. In addition to our display of banned books, we are showing The Kite Runner, the film version of the book written by Khaled Hosseini. The book is one of the most popular banned books.
Why do we have a Banned Books Week? Banned Books Week was first launched in 1982 in response to an increase in the number of books challenged at schools, libraries and bookstores. Banned Books Week is a national event celebrating the importance of reading and the freedom of the First Amendment.
