Local Area Author Tells All ...

Picture of Without Reservations book jacket Maria A. Abbott, author, teacher, and former D.C. hotellier for the rich and famous will speak on her new book, Without Reservations: The Art of Looking the Other Way (PublishAmerica, 2011), on Wednesday, Sept. 19, at 7 p.m. in the large meeting room on the second floor. The book chronicles the challenges of overseeing gracious hospitality services while turning a blind eye to the foibles and frolics of VIP guests.

Born and educated in Rio de Janeiro, Ms. Abbott has an international B.S. degree in chemistry and mathematics. Her outgoing manner and linguistic skills led to employment as well as awards in the hospitality field, including hotels and an embassy in Washington, D.C.  She is also the author of Party of One: Bereaved or Relieved? (PublishAmerica 2009) on the changes in life and and range of feeling women may have in widowhood.

Refreshments will be served.  Please join us for Ms. Abbott's talk.
