Congratulations to Kendall Wilson, who won big with this year's "Own the Night" Teen Summer Reading program! Kendall received an Amazon Kindle Fire from Northwest One Neighborhood Library for reading 25 books this summer -- well surpassing his original goal of 15 books. We chatted with Kendall about his prize and reading this summer:
What was your favorite thing about this year's Teen Summer Reading program?
I got to read a whole lot of different books.
What was your favorite book that you read over the summer?
It would have to be the House of Night series - I am still waiting for the new one to come out though.
(Librarian's note - Hidden, the next installation of the House of Night series, will be available after Oct. 16 at the library!)
How do you plan on using your new Kindle Fire?
I plan on downloading a bunch of books to read for school and an app called DJ because I love music.
Did you know that you can check out books for your Kindle from the library for free?
No! I did not! I am definitely going to do that.
