DC Reads Film Screening: A Separation
Published on Friday, November 2, 2012 - 1:16pm
As part of our season of DC Reads programming related to Azar Nafisi’s memoir Reading Lolita in Tehran, Mt. Pleasant is screening movies exploring life in contemporary Iran.
One of those movies, screening Saturday, Nov. 10 at 3 p.m., is A Separation, winner of multiple international awards, including last year’s Oscar and Golden Globe for Best Foreign Language film. A Separation explores the difficult decision faced by a married couple: whether to leave Iran in hopes of giving their daughter a better chance at life, or stay and look after a parent who has Alzheimer’s disease.
Please join us for this thoughtful family study in the meeting room on the main level of the library at 3 p.m.!
