Free film showing Dec. 10
You may recall the events that surprised all of D.C. in the 1990s, when a writer at The New Republic was revealed to have made up details in many of his stories. That writer, Stephen Glass, is the subject of an acclaimed film (Shattered Glass), which will be shown at the Chevy Chase Neighborhood Library at 2 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 10.
Roger Ebert gave Shattered Glass three-and-a-half out of four stars and said it "deserves comparison with All the President's Men among movies about journalism." The film stars Hayden Christensen and Peter Sarsgaard.
The film will be shown with subtitles. It runs for 94 minutes.
