Have you ever wondered what your favorite book would look like on film? Generations of filmmakers have answered that question by using literature as a reservoir for their creative vision. A new film series begins in January at Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library that celebrates the written word on film. "Books on Film" is a monthly series that will screen movie versions of popular and classic books. January's selection is Memoirs of a Geisha. Based on Arthur Golden's bestselling book, the film will be screened on Monday, January 14, at 6 p.m. February's selection, A Room with a View, based on the classic by E.M. Forster, will screen on Monday, February 11, at 6 p.m.
Films will be presented in Room A-5, on the library's lower level. Please check the calendar under "News & Events" on our homepage for future films in the series.
