St. Patrick’s Day Celebration
Published on Thursday, March 14, 2013 - 1:33pm
You don’t have to be Irish to join in the fun this Saturday, March 16! We’re having a St. Patrick’s Day celebration at 3 p.m. in the Children’s Room at Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library.
Favorite stories featuring giants, leprechauns and dust bunnies will be told as we celebrate the magic of Irish literature.
- “Breck and the Dust Bunnies” is a retelling of a folk tale originally written by William Corcoran in 1888.
- Fin M’Coul is everyone’s favorite giant and Tomie dePaola’s illustrations bring his story to life.
- Not only do we have Irish dust bunnies under the bed, but there are clever yarns about leprechauns hiding there too!
Music and crafts will fill the afternoon in true Gaelic style. Make your own dust bunny and a Celtic knot bookmark!
All are welcome to come and share the malarkey on the eve of St. Patrick’s Day.
