Spring Break - Fun Week!

DC Public Schools and most DC Public Charter Schools will be on break from Monday, April 1 to Friday, April 5. Each day of spring break Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library will offer a fun educational program for children ages 5 and up. So take a break from a computer and join us each day for a new exciting adventure and learn something, too.
Monday, April 1 at 2 p.m.
Did you know the cherry blossoms were a gift from Japan?
Volunteers from the Japan-America Society of Washington, D.C. will lead you through activities, crafts and demonstrations to learn more about Japanese culture and the lives of Japanese children.
Tuesday, April 2 at 3 p.m.
Make your own music party
Bring your own instrument or make one and jam with children’s librarian Ms. Annelise (Maurer) who will also share a story or two.
Wednesday, April 3 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m
Wii want a challenge
Think you’re a pro with Wii or just want to try it out? Come to this event, which will test your video gaming abilities or allow you to just have fun building them.
Thursday, April 4 at 3 p.m.
Draw! Dinosaurs, monsters and other creatures
Practice your skills drawing real and imaginary animals and learn how to draw them, too.
Friday, April 5 at 3:00 PM
Learn about simple machines and create one of your own.
