Historic Bridges of Rock Creek Park: A Lecture by John DeFerrari

Part of the Know Your Neighborhood program series

John DeFerrari, author of the Streets Of Washington blog, will present a slide lecture on the many bridges, fords, dams, and other manmade objects that have been built in nearby Rock Creek Park through the years. Though known for its natural beauty, the park has actually been subject to many man-made alterations, and they all have fascinating histories. Beautiful vintage postcard images will punctuate the talk.

Please join us Wednesday, April 17 at 6:30 p.m. in the large meeting room for this wonderful presentation and discussion.

Know Your Neighborhood is a series of programs exploring the history of DC Neighborhoods; a collaboration between the DC Public Library’s Washingtoniana Division and the Mount Pleasant Library.

Visit www.dclibrary.org/knowyourneighborhood for a full listing of all the programs in the series.

The series will continue at the Anacostia Neighborhood Library in June.
