Beneath the Surface: Southeast DC meets Southeast Asia
This workshop/performance with Christylez Bacon and Nistha Raj will present genres of music native to their cultural upbringings reflecting hip-hop, go-go and Hindustani Classical music.

The audience will get the opportunity to hear both distinct genres in their original forms, before learning about the specific techniques and components that will ultimately result in uniting both styles of music, creating an entirely new sound and intersection for people of Indian and African-American heritage to recognize their commonalities beneath the surface of our perceived differences.
