American Tapestry book coverThe Friends of the Juanita E. Thornton/Shepherd Park Neighborhood Library are hosting an after-hours open house on Saturday, June 1, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the library, 7420 Georgia Ave. NW.

The featured speaker is Rachel Swarns of the New York Times’ Washington bureau, and writer of the best-selling Michelle Obama biography American Tapestry: The Story of the Black, White, and Multiracial Ancestors of Michelle Obama.
