Wellness Workshops--Second Tuesdays

June 11 at 12:30 p.m. outside Room 220

Live Empowered logo from the American Diabetes AssociationIt is almost time for another of our Wellness Workshops, presented by the American Diabetes Association here at the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library.

Whether you want to pick up some tips on living a healthy lifestyle, or learn more about diabetes itself, visiting the Workshop on your lunch hour is an easy way to do both at once. On June 11, heart health and the effect of diabetes on the heart will be featured.

One useful thing I learned myself from the May 9 session was that eating a big meal shortly before going to bed was bad for your health, and for your sleep.  Since I have to work late two nights a week, I often had been doing just that.  I tried out the advice that night, and sure enough I did sleep better!  Who knew?  Well, now I do and am trying to eat earlier.

Judging from the lively discussion during and afterwards with the very well informed presenter, the other participants, who had diabetes, also found the presentation to be useful.

Please join us next Tuesday, and tell your friends.
