Southeast Branch Read-in DC Map-a-thon!
Published on Friday, June 7, 2013 - 11:30am
Drop by the Southeast Branch library during our Summer Reading kick-off/Read-in on June 15 and help to map a passage from a book about DC to the DC By the Book website. Just stop by, grab a book, and add a passage to the site. DC By the Book is brand-new online map of literary passages describing Washington, D.C., developed by DCPL staff. They need help adding content to the site, so come help out.
Staff will be available to help you set up an account, but please bring a laptop if you are able.
These are some of the books that we will have these books available to map, but feel free to bring any book from this list:
- 1876 and Burr by Gore Vidal
- The Night Gardener by George Pellacanos
- Good as Gold by Joseph Heller
- DC Noir and DC Noir 2 by various authors
- Watergate by Thomas Mallon
If you know of another book that features Washington, D.C., we are happy to add that to the list, too!
P.S. Readers who also submit a review of the book will be entered into our Adult Summer Reading contest for an Amazon Kindle.
