At the Crossroads of Freedom and Equality: The Emancipation Proclamation and the March on Washington

March2In recogntion of the 50th Anniversary of the March on Washington, join us for a panel discussion featuring Dr. Sandra Jowers-Barber, Assistant Professor of History, University of the District of Columbia; Hari Jones, Assistant Director and Curator, African American Civil War Memorial and Museum; and Dr. Roger Davidson Jr., Assistant Professor of History, Coppin State University.

The three noted historians -- within the context of  the struggle to achieve equal justice under the law -- will focus on the role of activists from the end of the the Civil War to the historic march.

The panel discussion will take place in the Black Studies Center at the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library.
