Talking Book Club
We will discuss the DC Reads selection, Frederick Douglass in Washington, D. C.: The Lion of Anacostia, by John Muller. Douglass has been chosen to represent the District of Columbia in Statuary Hall in the U.S. Capitol, so it is fitting that we choose this work, which concentrates on Douglass' final years in Washington, D.C. The book is available in the main DC Public Library collection and in the Library for the Blind collection as recorded by the Washington Volunteer Readers for the Blind.
The Talking Book Club meets the second Thursday of each month in Adaptive Services, Room 215. Brown bag lunches are welcome, and we provide coffee, tea and cold water. Call 727-2142 for additional information.
