Interview with a Reader

Raya in front of Summer Reading Wall of FameThis week, we were lucky enough to track down one of our Summer Readers readers for an interview.

She’s so enthusiastic about reading, she’s on her second sheet for the Super Spelunkers club. When she finishes, she’ll be at 48 hours of reading. Way to go Raya!

Read on to find out more about her.

Name:
Raya

How old are you?
11 years

What’s your favorite book and why?
When You Reach Me, by Rebecca Stead, very important element such as time travel. It seems impossible in the real world. Your common sense tells you it can’t happen, but maybe it can.

What else do you like to read?
I like fantasy and mysteries like Nancy Drew and the Percy Jackson Series.

Which of the Summer Reading prizes are you most excited about… Kindle, Nats tickets, lunch with authors and illustrators, Chipotle coupons, or getting a free book?
I don’t remember what they are, I just really like reading.

What is your favorite place to read?
My bed because it’s comfortable and there’s lots of natural light.

If you could meet any author, who would be it and why?
Rick Riordan or Rebecca Stead because I would want to talk to him about all the myths and where he got resources from and how he came up with his characters.
