Based on a novel by Somerset Maugham:

A remake of a 1934 film. A couple of ill-suited young newlyweds find their marriage unraveling after traveling from Britain to China on the husband's assignment.  To punish his wife for her infidelity, he relocates them to a remote village, where they are forced to rely on each other.

Featuring Naomi Watts in the role originated by Greta Garbo. Also starring Ed Norton, Diana Rigg and Liev Schreiber.

Directed by John Curran.
