Global Lens Film Series 2013

DC Public Library has the privilege of presenting, in collaboration with the Global Film Initiative, this year's Global Lens Film series. This is a series of 10 award-winning feature films from Brazil, China, Chile, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Kazakhstan, India, Serbia and Mexico. The 2013 films premiered at New York's Museum of Modern Art in January, and will play in 35 cities throughout the United States and Canada during the rest of the year.
The mission of the Global Lens Film Series, now in its 10th year, is to support the distribution and accessibility of unique and critically acclaimed works internationally. Please visit globalfilm.org to learn more about the series and the Global Film Initiative.
Takoma Park Library will be screening The Parade, a Serbian film, on Saturday, Sept. 7 at 2 p.m. The film is in Serbo-Croatian and has English subtitles. It is best suited for adult audiences. You can find more information about the film's plot here.
