Community Celebration and Hispanic Heritage Month Kick-off Reception

The Latino GLBT History Project, in partnership with the DC Office of Latino Affairs, Brother, Help Thyself, and the DC Office of Human Rights will be hosting a community networking reception to honor the work of Brother, Help Thyself Wednesday Sept. 18 beginning at 6:30 p.m. This wonderful community organization focuses its efforts into providing financial and other support to non-profit organizations serving the GLBTQ and HIV/AIDS communities in the Baltimore and Washington, D.C. areas.

Stop by for the reception and take a look at the Latino GLBT History Project’s exhibit featuring over 20 black and white photos and biographies of LGBTQ Latino/a community members from the DC area, displayed on the main floor of the library.

Part of the eighth annual Hispanic LGBTQ Heritage Celebration. Stop by the library and learn more about these wonderful community organizers! Refreshments compliments of the Friends of the Mount Pleasant Library.
