Do you host or belong to a book club? Do you enjoy a spirited cocktail now and then? If so, then Tim Federle’s Tequila Mockingbird: Cocktails With a Literary Twist may be just the book for you. Federle takes over 60+ classic literary titles and gives them a shake and a stir, and presents them transformed with a twist on the original title in a drinkable version. Some are downright hilarious.
A couple of my favorites: Rye and Prejudice, Love in the Time of Kahlua, Bridget Jones's Daquiri, The Last of the Mojitos, Silas Marnier and, of course, the book’s title, Tequila Mockingbird.
This small tome packs a punch with sections on bar tools, techniques and terms necessary for properly preparing literary libations. He even includes a section on bar bites and drinking games all named after famous works of literature. The book concludes with a handy index listing drink ingredients as well as the original book titles and author names.
This is a really fun, beautifully illustrated book. Check it out!
