Calling all teens! What do these eight books have in common (besides being totally awesome reads)? They are all YA books that have been challenged in or banned from libraries, schools, or communities.  In fact, most of them were challenged as recently as this year.

Help us challenge censorship right back by signing up for a library card! All teens who sign up for new library cards at the Southeast Neighborhood Library during Banned Books Week (Sept. 22-Sept. 28) will get some free library swag; the first 20 teens to sign-up will get an extra-special, extra-tasty treat. Make sure you bring your photo ID (school ID, DC One Card, or DC identification card), and something with your address on it (like a school report card).
