Are you intrigued by the lives of other people?
Want to spend some time reading entertaining books and talking to like-minded individuals?

If so, join us for the new H&B (history and biography) book club, where we will be reading some of the more popular titles that deal with the world’s stimulating past events and people. We will meet the first Wednesday of every month at 6 p.m., with our first meeting on Dec. 4.

For our first book, we will be taking a look at Tom Reiss’ new biography The Black Count. This is the tale of General Alex Dumas, father to the writer of The Three Musketeers and The Count of Monte Cristo Alexander Dumas. Learn the story of the rise of a mixed-race general in a slave-holding nation. Enjoy a tale more exciting and less believable than anything Dumas himself could imagine, but all the more enjoyable because it is true.
