The American History Book and Film Club

Last date: Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2013, 6:30 p.m. (see all dates)

Portrait of Booker T. WashingtonCome and explore American history and debate the issues with a group who are intent on creating a community of history enthusiasts. The American History Book and Film Club is dedicated to bringing American history alive through debate and discussion.

We will choose as a group an American historical figure, period, or topic that is controversial and examine a related book twice a month. In addition, we will screen a theatrical or documentary film that matches the topic we have chosen. The books we have read recently include a biography of Booker T. Washington, and a history of Reconstruction.

We meet twice a month on the first and third Wednesdays of the month.
