Come Write In: A NaNoWriMo Event
Working on something and need a quiet space to do so? Come write in!
We are happy to announce "Come Write In" at Francis A. Gregory Library. Inspired by National Novel Writing Month, also known as NaNoWriMo, a quiet space to work on your novel will be available on Saturday afternoons for those who prefer working in a public setting.
National Novel Writing Month is not your ordinary approach to creative writing. On Nov. 1, participants begin working towards the goal of writing a 50,000-word novel by 11:59 p.m. on Nov. 30. NaNoWriMo values enthusiasm, charisma and those who appreciate a deadline! Partnering system-wide, Come Write In programs will be held at DC Public Library branches across the city.
To win prizes for the completion of your 50,000 word novel, participants must register with NaNoWriMo and with DC Public Library.
So, what are you waiting for? Enjoy all the perks of a library, such as Internet access and immediate reference help, while working on your writing project in a peaceful, quiet setting. Write now, RIGHT NOW, and edit later, to win prizes!
