Parent-Child Book Club

For November, the Parent-Child Book Club read Mr. Popper's Penguins by Richard Atwater. It was very well liked by the children.
While discussing the book, and how Mr. Popper believed that travel broadened the mind, two readers informed me that they had traveled outside of the country. One reader thought it would be fun to have a couple penguins, another wasn't so sure. Everyone enjoyed the Reader's Theater.
We were not successful in passing a penguin egg (i.e. tennis ball) or a stuffed penguin chick on our feet.
However, we did get pictures of our penguin fans.
Next month we are reading Escape From Mr. Lemoncello's Library by Chris Grabenstein.
We'll meet Thursday, Dec. 5 at 7 p.m. Books are available at the Children's Desk.
