Lewis Carroll, born Charles Dodgson, is best known for The Adventures of Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass, though he was also a mathematician, a deaco, and a photographer. On Jan. 27, he would have been 182 years old.
To celebrate his birthday, Rosedale Library is having an Alice in Wonderland celebration, with a movie and crafts day on Sunday, Jan. 12!
At 2 p.m., we will be showing Disney's 1951 movie about a bored girl named Alice who follows a white rabbit down a hole to some very strange adventures. Afterwards, the children will be able to make Alice in Wonderland finger puppets and take home some coloring pages!
