'Shyamal Uncle Turns Off The Lights'

Global Lens Film Series

Shyamal Uncle Turns off the LightsJoin us on Wednesday, Dec. 11 at 6 p.m. in the large conference room on the second floor as we watch Shyamal Uncle Turns Off the Lights as part of the Global Lens Film Series.

Shyamal Uncle is an 80-year-old retiree who lives with his wife in Paik Para, India. He notices that the lights in his neighborhood are on 24/7. He thinks that this is a huge waste of energy resources and money.

The retiree attempts to talk to the local vendor, politicians, a policeman, and anyone who would listen. Unfortunately, he does not get any satisfaction and his concerns go unheeded. This beautifully produced film includes a tour of Shyamal Uncle's neighborhood and is great for the entire family.
