Glorious March to Liberty: Civil War to Civil Rights

The African American Civil War Memorial and Museum is dedicated to keeping alive the contributions of men and women of African descent in securing liberty and equality for themselves and others.
To that aim, the William O. Lockridge/Bellevue Library is one of several locations to host their program, Glorious March to Liberty: Civil War to Civil Rights. Participants ages 5 and older are invited to learn more about the movement to allow African Americans to serve officially in the United States Army and Navy and the role African American soldiers played in the Civil War and the years immediately after.
