Women of the Washington Press: Author Talk

Women of the Washington Press

Cover of bookThe Women of the Washington Press argues that for nearly two centuries, women have persisted in their efforts to cover politics in the nation's capital in spite of blatant prejudice and restrictive societal attitudes. They have been held back by the  difficulties of combining two competing roles -- those of women and journalists.

Join the Friends of the Tenley-Friendship Library on Wednesday, Jan. 29 at 7 p.m. as we host Maurine Beasley for a discussion of her book, Women of the Washington Press: Politics, Prejudice and Persistence.

We will meet in the large conference room on the second floor of the library.
