Woodridge Interim Library opens on Jan. 13

Local lifetime learners and book enthusiasts will now have a 4,200-square-foot space to check out new titles, full seasons of popular series and movie DVDs, music CDs, books on disc and novels and nonfiction of all kinds.
The “soft opening” of the refreshing Woodridge Interim Library at 1790 Douglas St. NE will be on Monday, Jan. 13 at 9:30 a.m. The library is equipped with 24 new computers for children, adults and young adults, as well as an early learning literacy station designed just for children. The early learning literacy station is a dynamic all-in-one digital learning computer which features educational software for children 2-8 years old.
The reference collection includes the DC Code, community information and a host of ready reference in a myriad of genres for residents, students and researchers.
Meeting rooms aren’t available in the interim, but customers can still take advantage of and engage in superb up coming programming offers in preschool story time, Jobseekers drop-in clinics, digital download and database demonstrations and more.
Hours for the Woodridge Interim Library are Monday through Wednesday 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Thursday, 1 p.m. to 9 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; and Sunday, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
The interim library will remain open while the new library is under construction. A formal grand opening of the Woodridge Interim Library will be held on Saturday, Jan. 25. Festivities will begin at 10:30 a.m.
