New Children's Librarian

Joanna Harris, children's librarian

Nice to meet you! My name is Joanna Harris. I’m the new children’s librarian at Woodridge Neighborhood Library.

Lizzie, Woodridge’s wonderful former children’s librarian, will be at the newly renovated Northeast branch starting in February. She told me that I should write a post introducing myself to you all.

Here’s a little about me. I look forward to getting to know more about you!

So, when is story time?
Story time is now at 10:30 AM on Mondays and Wednesdays. Mondays’ story times are aimed at baby/toddler audiences, while Wednesdays’ are targeted to a preschool-age group.

What are your reading right now?
I am reading the third book in Brandon Mull’s Beyonders series, Chasing the Prophecy. It’s a great series, filled with magic, adventure, a fascinating world, and relatable characters. I recommend it for anyone who likes fast-paced fantasies with great fight scenes and strong character development. I can’t wait to find out what happens next.

Hobbies?
I love reading, writing stories, and playing ukulele!

Super power of choice?
Pretty sure the ability to shapeshift into any animal or person I wanted. (You know, like Mystique, from X-Men) That, or the ability to fly. I’d love to be able to travel to every continent without having to pay for airfare!
