Year of the Horse Party Wrap Up

Happy New Year sign traditional Chinese snacks and stick puppets

Chinese New Year lanternsThanks to everyone who came out to the Shaw Library Chinese New Year party!

Partygoers read My Chinese New Year to learn about some of the holiday's traditions, saw a puppet enactment of the story of the 12 zodiac animals' swimming contest, and sang and played bells along to the Happy Chinese New Year song and a traditional dragon dance

We also sampled traditional Chinese snacks such as hundred year eggs and sachima sweet cakes. At the end of the party, everyone got a lucky red envelope filled with special treats.

The Watha T./Shaw family wishes you and your families a very happy and auspicious Year of the Horse!
