HarigestureRosedale extends its gratitude to African American Civil Museum Educational Director, Dawn Chitty and Museum Curator and Presenter, Hari Jones, for a stirring and captivating program, "Glorious March To Freedom: Civil War to Civil Rights.

On Friday, Jan. 31, 40 third graders from Miner Elementary, a neighboring school, marched over to Rosedale library for the interactive, visual presentation. They listened and watched intently, answered and asked questions, chanted out all out historical facts in call and response fashion and had a chance to handle reproduced Civil War artifacts.

The animated and brilliant Mr. Jones is a dynamic presence in any setting and the students and teachers left buzzing with excitement about the presentation and the follow-up educational packets that were provided. They also expressed eagerness to check out books at the library!

We look forward to seeing all of our friends back at Rosedale Library as ongoing book borrowers and as participants in other great programs to come!
