James Joyce was born in Ireland in February 1882 and is among the most prominent Irish writers. Joyce is closely associated with Dublin, although he lived most of his life on the European continent.
His life and works are celebrated around the world every year on Bloomsday, June 16. The first publisher of Ulysses was Sylvia Beach, an American expatriate who also owned the Parisian-English language bookstore Shakespeare and Company.
Palisades Library is displaying some books by and about James Joyce, including:
||A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man|
|James Joyce's Letters to Sylvia Beach, 1921-1940|
