Basic Programming Code

Get a basic, hands-on overview of the HTML and JavaScript programming languages and discover their inter-related capacity to produce dynamic web pages. Seats will be filled on a first-come, space-available basis.

Computer Lab, Room 311

Required Skills: The ability to read and comprehend English well, and the skills acquired in PC Basics, Word I Basics, Word II Intermediate, Web I Basics, Web II Intermediate, and Email Basics. A significant amount of typing is required!

You will learn to:
  • Insert HTML tags
  • Insert JavaScript codes into HTML elements
  • Explore the JavaScript code using the alert() function
  • Insert the JavaScript onclick event into an HTML event attribute
  • Access HTML elements using the Document Object Model (DOM)
  • Use JavaScript to change HTML images and styles
  • Save your JavaScript-enhanced .html document to your flash drive or send them to your email account.
