Computer Skills Development

Throughout the month of March, the Deanwood library will be holding a series of computer classes to help you improve your skills, whether you are a beginner in need of the basics or an intermediate user in need of a refresher.
Workshop 1: Email
Monday, March 10 at 11 a.m.
Workshop 1 will focus on effectively using your email account to its fullest potential.
Topics covered will include:
- signing up for an email account
- attaching files
- downloading files
- composing emails and more!
Workshop 2: Resumes and Cover Letters
Monday, March 17 at 11 a.m.
Workshop 2 will focus on resume and cover letter building. Topics covered will include:
- formatting your resume
- do’s and don’ts of resumes and cover letters
- proper grammar and diction and more!
Workshop 3: Job Searching
Monday, March 24 at 11 a.m.
Workshop 3 will focus on utilizing job search databases. This workshop will focus on using Job & Career Accelerator as a platform for job searching, building resumes and cover letters for employers and more!
Workshop 4: Job Searching Part II
Monday, March 31 at 11 a.m.
Workshop 4 will continue to focus on utilizing job search engines and DC Public Library’s databases. This workshop will be a more indepth look at Job & Career Accelerator, usajobs.gov, and other online venues for job searching and career building.
You can attend one or all of these classes. Registration is required so that we can assure that every student has their own computer to use. Please register by calling the Deanwood Library at 698-1175.
