The History of Women's Suffrage
Did you know, according to the Center for American Women and Politics, that more women than men have voted in every presidential election since 1964?
And to think that less than 100 years ago, women were denied the vote! Come to Southwest Library on Thursday, March 20 at 7 p.m. to hear how suffrage was won, and what roles Alice Paul, Nina Allender, and the National Woman's Party played in the struggle. Elspeth Kursh, Collections and Facilities Manager at the Sewall-Belmont House & Museum, will be the presenter.
Light refreshments will be provided.
