Spring Brings New Story Times

Starting in April, the Tenley-Friendship Neighborhood Library will be offering three new story times to its programming lineup, which already features story times, book clubs, and activities for children and teens each week.
Here is a look at our programs. Hope to see you at one.
Baby Lap Time (Non-walkers)
Wednesdays 11 a.m.
Stories, songs, rhymes, bounces, and tickles for non-walkers and their caregivers. Registration is required each week. Siblings and nanny share buddies are welcome! To register, please email Christina McTighe or call the Children's Reference desk at 202-727-1449.
Wonderful Ones & Twos (Walkers to 2 years)
Wednesdays 12 p.m. and Fridays 11:30 a.m. NEW!
A fun, interactive story time that encourages early language and literacy skills through stories, songs, and rhymes. Registration is required each week. Siblings and nanny share buddies are welcome! To register, please email Christina McTighe or call the Children's Reference desk at 202-727-1449.
Preschool Story Time (Ages 3-5 years)
Wednesdays 4 p.m. NEW! and Fridays 10:30 a.m.
This story time helps children with literacy skills through reading stories, singing songs, learning new rhymes and honing visual literacy skills. This program is limited to the first 25 attendees by ticket only. Tickets are available at the children’s reference desk for that day's program.
Pajama Story Time (All ages)
Wednesdays 7 p.m.
This is a drop-in story time.
Family Story Time (All ages)
Saturdays 10:30 a.m. NEW!
Start off your weekend with a family story time filled with songs, rhymes, and good books.
Story Break (All ages)
Tuesdays 10 a.m. and Thursdays 2 p.m.
A short story time: a couple books, a couple songs. A nice break!
Kid’s Movie Mondays (Ages 5-12)
Second Monday of each month, 3:30 p.m.
Movies will be rated G or PG.
Explorer’s Club (Ages 5-12)
First Tuesday of each month, 4 p.m.
Explore science and art with crafts, activities and experiments.
In the Zone (Ages 5-12)
Third Tuesday of each month, 4 p.m.
A “free” zone for games and crafts with a different program each month.
Family Craft (All Ages)
Last Saturday of the month, 2 p.m.
A fun book followed by a related craft.
Teen Café (Ages 13-19)
Thursdays, 3-5:30 p.m.
Rotating activities and a space for teens to hang out.
Teen Book Club (Ages 13-19)
Last Monday of each month, 4 p.m.
Monthly selection available at the adult reference desk.
Teen Movie Mondays (Ages 13-19)
Fourth Monday of each month, 4 p.m.
Movies with be rated PG and PG-13.
