5th Annual Tour de DCPL
Join bicycle and library enthusiasts alike for the 5th Annual Tour de DCPL, a free community bike ride! The route this year will begin at the Southeast Neighborhood Library, visiting the newly renovated Northeast, as well as Rosedale, Deanwood, Dorothy L. Height/Benning, Anacostia via the Riverwalk Trail, and returning across the 11th St. bridge to Southeast. This year we are proud to announce our official partnership with Black Women Bike, as well as DDOT's Anacostia Waterfront Initiative representatives! Staff from Capitol Hill Bikes will be on hand to troubleshoot bike repairs and offer tips on basic bike maintenance. The ride will pass many Capital Bikeshare stations, and staff will be available at the Anacostia Library bike station offering free helmet fittings and answering questions.
Participants should check-in at 9 a.m. The ride will depart at 9:30 a.m. and end at approximately 1:30 p.m. This year's ride is slightly more challenging than years past, at about 14 miles total. Children under 8 years old are encouraged to attend the "Library Lovers Like to Bike" family ride in Ward 6 on Saturday, May 31.
