Mt. Pleasant Youth Arts Fair

Calling all artists!

Are you creative? Do you make art? Have you noticed anything new in Mt. Pleasant this year?

Then we want YOU to participate in this year's Mt. Pleasant Youth Arts Fair!
Every year, we host a public art exhibition of work by local students - that means you - so everyone in the community can see what talented kids we have in our midst.

Here's what you need to know:

  • Start by thinking about this year's theme: New in Mt. Pleasant!
  • Create ONE work of art that reflects this theme in any way.
  • You can make a painting, sculpture, drawing, take a photograph - or anything else you like! - but you must be able to carry the piece yourself. (In other words, it can't be very heavy or very big!)
  • Drawings and photographs need to have a mat or frame - talk to your parents and teachers if you need some help with this.
  • If you're between 4 and 18 years old, you can participate!

Bring your completed work of art to the Mt. Pleasant Library April 11-13. The show will be on display in the Mt. Pleasant Library and local businesses from May 5-31, 2014.

If selected, a few cool things happen:

  • Your artwork will be on display for everyone in the community to see!
  • Your friends and family will be extremely impressed.
  • You'll be honored at the Opening Night Reception and Award Ceremony at the Mt. Pleasant Library on May 5 from 6-8 p.m., where all of the participating artists will receive certificates and prizes for best in show will be presented.
