"Turn" into History

If you saw AMC's new original TV series "Turn," set during the early years of the American Revolution, you may be wondering about the history behind the drama.
The basis of the show is the best-selling non-fiction book Washington's Spies by Alexander Rose. It is the story of the six unlikely men of the Culper Spy Ring who conducted their clandestine work in British occupied New York City and into nearby states. For 200 years, the identities of the men were kept secret. After reading this book, you'll have a historical perspective on the show.
Also of interest, George Washington's Secret Six by Brian Kilmeade and Don Yaeger discusses the Culper Spy Ring. Copies of both books are available throughout the library system.
"Turn" airs at 9 p.m. on Sunday nights on AMC.
