Would you like to improve your English conversation skills? Enjoy conversation and fun activities? Get to know people from all over the world? Learn more about the library and its services?
Petworth Library has an English conversation group that meets twice a month on Thursdays. It's an opportunity for adults and older teens with ESL needs to come together in an informal environment to practice and improve conversational English skills. The group aims to bring together people from all over the world so it's a chance to practice with others who have similar needs but come from different backgrounds, cultures, and native languages. In other words, it's a great way to make friends!
The conversation can be on a wide range of topics so if you have something in particular you want to talk about or learn more about, please share your ideas!
The group is led by a librarian with previous volunteer experience as a conversation group facilitator. The next meeting will be on Thursday, May 8 at 7:00 p.m. If you have questions, please email Alexis or give us a call at 202-243-1188.
