May's Kids' Mystery Book Club Meeting

Thanks to everyone who came out to the Mystery Book Club interest meeting April 24, 2014. We decided for the month of May that we will be reading Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, the first in the world-famous Harry Potter series. Come pick up the book at the library (we will have multiple copies for check out) and join us Thursday, May 29 to talk about our favorite parts of the story over snacks and juice boxes. The first book in the Harry Potter series follows Harry during his first year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. In just a matter of months, Harry goes from a seemingly ordinary 11-year-old boy living in a closet under the stairs to a wizard-in-training. Almost as quickly as Harry finds new friends and wonders, he encounters bullies, tough teachers, trolls, and a mystery on the 3rd floor of the school guarded by a three-headed dog.

What’s being protected up there? And who's after it?  And more importantly—what do they plan to do when they find it? Harry and his new friends - Ron and Hermione - are determined to find out. Check out the book, then come out and tell us what you thought!
