Accessibility DC Meet-up
AccessibilityDC is a monthly meet-up on the third Tuesday of every month from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. in Room 215, Adaptive Services Division at the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library.
This meeting is a chance for people who are interested in Accessibility to get together and share information. Web Developers who are interested in Web Accessibility and Adaptive Technology Users who have a daily experience of accessibility issues are all welcome to attend.
The AccessibilityDC meetup was initiated by the Accessibility Camp DC 2009 unconference: (http://www.accessibilitycampdc.org/). A recap of that event is here: (http://cleartypemedia.com/press/2009/10/accessibility-camp-dc/) . Slides from the event are posted here: (http://www.accessibilitycampdc.org/slides.shtml)
Please make sure register to attend the Accessibility DC meet-up so we have an idea how many people are attending. A link to registration for each month can be found at http://www.accessibilitydc.org/
Talk Ideas
We are always looking for someone to lead a discussion or presentation about anything accessibility related for the group. Please contact info@accessibilitydc.org with any talk ideas you would be willing to do.
The Agenda usually looks something like this:
6:30 p.m.-6:45 p.m. - Welcome everyone.
6:45 p.m.-8:15 p.m. - Discussion and Demos. An example would be "What you need to know to use JAWS for testing and occasional use."
8:15 p.m.-8:30 p.m. - Closing remarks, clean-up, and information about after event wanderings.
